In February 2010, the nation were shocked when beautiful 19 year old Nikitta Grender was murdered, just days before she was due to give birth to her daughter Kelsey May. Nikitta was raped, stabbed and had her flat set on fire in Newport, South Wales. Her killer was the best friend and cousin of Nikitta's Fiance Ryan Mayes Carl Whant. Whant was a drug addict and social misfit who became obsessed with Nikitta and jealous of his cousins relaitonship with her. When Whant's DNA was found in Nikitta, in one final act of betrayal, Whant claimed to have had a threesome with Nikitta and his cousin the day of the murder.
