Guppy breeding is the process of guppies reproducing, which is simple and prolific because they are livebearing fish, meaning females give birth to live, free-swimming young. To breed, you can simply house males and females together; however, you can also manage the process by providing the right conditions like a proper male-to-female ratio (1:2 or 1:3), high water quality, and mimicking summer conditions with more light and warmth. The male uses a specialized organ called a gonopodium to fertilize the female internally, and she can store sperm to have multiple litters from a single mating.
