Naimisharanya is a famous pilgrimage place for Hindus. Which is situated on the left bank of Gomti river in Sitapur district, about 90 km from Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. Chakratirtha is situated at a distance of about one mile from Naimisharanya Sitapur station. Chakratirth, Vyas Gaddi, Manu-Satrupa Tapobhoomi and Hanuman Garhi are also major places of interest here. There is also a lake here whose central part is made in the form of a circle and water always flows continuously from it.
Neemsar, also known as Nimsar or Neemkhar or Naimisharanya, is situated on the left bank of the Gomti River. The temple is sweeped as one of the eight temples of Vishnu that is self-manifested and is described as the Swayambukhta Kshetra.
[1] (The seven other temples are Srirangam Ranganathaswamy Temple, Bhu Varaha Swamy Temple, Tirumala Venkateswara Temple, and Vanamamalai Perumal Temple in South India and the Saligrama, Pushkar and Badrinath Temples in North India.

[2] The Naimisaranya temple is enshrined in the 7th–9th century Vaishnava canon, Nalayira Divya Prabandha, composed in ten hymns by Thirumangai Alvar. The temple is classified as one of the Divyadesams, one of the 108 Vishnu temples revered in the Vaishnava canon.
