Exploring small coal town in the appalachian mountains of Shinnston, West Virginia in Harrison County.
the log house in the video is the Levi Shinn Log House built in 1778, the oldest standing structure in north central West Virginia. This is when Shinnston was established. The town was originally named after Levi Shinn and was called "Shinn's Town" when the town was incorporated in 1852. In 1915 the towns' name was changed to "Shinnston".
