We swung by Orlando, Florida to visit this super cozy local barbershop for a haircut and shave on Mills, which happens to be one of the oldest streets in Orlando! 🍊

In 2021, Tito Santiago opened his barbershop named after his daughter Eleanor❣️

Not only did we love the color palette of Eleanor's Barber Shop 😍 We also loved the vintage 1940s chairs and workstations that came from Chet Farleys barbershop just a block away that sadly closed down in 2020. When Tito heard about the closure and the sale of everything inside, he wasted no time. Tito purchased everything that was left which were the chairs, stations, and an American flag on the wall before they were gone.

He kept everything in storage until the perfect moment to bring them into his own shop...

When Tito found this location on Mills, he told the property manager, “I’ve lived in Orlando for almost my whole life and am raising my family here now. I would love to be able to keep these chairs on the same road that they’ve been on for almost 70 years.” ✨

At the time, Tito noticed the smaller barbershops that were opening up around Orlando “all looked like clones of one another.” After a visit to a shop in Cocoa Village called Old Florida Barber Shop, he was inspired by how they ran their shop. So he thought, “If no one else was going to open a traditional barber shop in Orlando then I should just be the one to do it.”

Tito channeled the classic old Florida look into every corner of his shop. Even the bathroom has been decorated with pink flamingo wallpaper 🦩 While growing up, Tito’s dad always loved watching Miami Vice. So Tito remembers seeing all the cool pastel colors - seafoam green and pastel pinks.

When Tito imagined how his shop would look, the first color that came to mind was pink. Since there weren't any pink barbershops in Orlando, Tito thought pink would be the perfect color to stand out and be unique 💈💕

Before Tito became a barber over 8 years ago, he was "a very picky barber patron." He recalls making the decision to stop going to college and thinking, "If I love getting haircuts, maybe I'll love giving them too." So off he went to enroll in barber school just a week later.

✨ "So many things in Orlando unfortunately chase a trend, and I personally think the coolest thing you could do is offer a business or offer a service that is genuine to yourself.” Tito adds, "Because no matter what trend is cool, being yourself is the coolest thing you could do still.”
