The Nike Art and Culture Gallery — Nike University Gallery — was officially opened at the Federal University Lokoja’s Felele Campus on Monday, 9 February 2026. It was inaugurated alongside the Institute of African Heritage and Museum Studies, creating a dedicated centre for art, culture and heritage research on campus.
The gallery and the associated Institute of African Heritage and Museum Studies will:
Preserve and promote African cultural heritage through exhibitions, research and educational programmes dedicated to museum studies and heritage.
Provide a research hub for students, scholars, and culture enthusiasts from across Nigeria and beyond.
Support academic growth, cultural understanding, and artistic development among young Nigerians
