The World of Flashpoint: Second Russo-Georgian War

SYNOPSIS: After the July Insurrection, the United States found itself in the position of being forced into focusing on domestic affairs and setting down the path of recovery while the rest of the world made their international maneuvers.

Although the United States was technically still a force to be reckoned with, both conventionally and through its nuclear weapons, the economic troubles she was undergoing meant that America could not project power effectively outside of her own sphere of influence.

One of these maneuvers was conducted by the Russian Federation. Noting America's new position, and NATO under no obligation to defend the Republic of Georgia, the Russian Federation chooses to deal with old problems, starting a border war with the Republic of Georgia, and eventually choosing to escalate it, ending the existence of the small republic in the Caucuses in a short invasion in a bid to reclaim lost territory.

The fifth of eight mini-scenarios and faux news broadcasts meant to explain what happened in between the six year gap between Etruria and Flashpoint, Second Russo-Georgian War is a short video continuing to explain the ever changing international landscape, particularly as the United States faces a world where it is not necessarily the lone superpower anymore.
