What started as a simple request to build the loudest, fattest bridge pickup, turned into a deep engineering journey. Multiple prototypes were handcrafted by Mong Montances and tested extensively by Jam. The goal was not just brute force output, but a tone that balances power, clarity, and dynamic responsiveness.

The final KAG OVERWOUND pickup features a 16.8k DCR winding, a bold AlNiCo 8 bar magnet, double hex screw bobbins, and a striking nickel German Silver 12-hole cover with gold hex screws. It delivers aggressive lows, punchy mids, and a clear, singing high end—perfect for cutting through modern mixes while preserving articulation and pick attack.

For even more a wider range of tone, the KAG OVERWOUND comes with 5-conductor wiring, allowing for coil splitting, phase options, and custom wiring mods.
