The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) has issued subpoenas to several government departments, demanding updates on efforts to tackle malnutrition in the Eastern Cape.
This move follows a 2022 report that highlighted ongoing concerns in the region.
Among the departments called to account are Social Development, Health, Home Affairs, and the Eastern Cape Office of the Premier.
