Night Journey is a grade 2 programmatic piece that is exciting and intense. Night Journey has a strong melody and an aggressive rhythmic drive. The middle of the piece features the percussion section with the winds playing a legato, dark melody layered on top. The main theme returns and pushes us to an exciting finish. Students use their imagination to create their own musical journey as they discover the excitement in this piece. Night Journey is dedicated to the composers son, Brian.
