The STIHL AK System of battery-powered tools is designed for home gardeners with medium-sized gardens. From mowing the lawn to cutting firewood, they are ideal if you want to tackle almost any type of job in your garden.

We’re adding cordless garden tools to the STIHL AK System all the time and there is already a selection of machines to help tackle almost every task in your garden. The STIHL AK range includes:
🔶 Cordless chainsaws
🔶 Battery-powered leaf blowers
🔶 Cordless grass trimmers
🔶 Hedge trimmers, including a long-reach hedge-trimmer for higher branches
🔶 A cordless pole pruner
🔶 Battery-powered lawn mowers
🔶 and a lawn scarifier

These cordless tools are powered by one of three interchangeable 36volt STIHL AK batteries, either the AK 10, AK 20 or AK 30, which slot directly into the STIHL machines. The AK batteries are all the same size so are interchangeable in the machines although there is a recommended battery for each STIHL machine, which gives the ideal balance of weight and run time.

With certain tools, we also recommend the higher capacity AK batteries in the range to get the full power. You shouldn’t use the STIHL AK 10 batteries in our cordless chainsaws for example, as the performance will be reduced

The batteries can be charged using the STIHL AL 101 standard charger or the STIHL AL 301 quick charger.

They are also much quieter so you won’t upset the neighbours and are emission-free during use, which makes them much nicer to use. The range of STIHL battery tools also benefits from the STIHL investment in research and development as well as decades of manufacturing experience. Our AK System cordless tools go through rigorous testing before being launched to make sure you are getting the best tool for your garden.

Some of our AK System cordless machines are sold as a set with the battery and charger. In this case, buying the tools as a set is slightly cheaper than buying the items separately.

When you buy any STIHL AK battery-powered tool, it should always be clear whether they are being sold with a battery and charger, but if you aren’t sure, just ask your STIHL Approved Dealer. If you already have an AK battery and charger, you may just want to buy the tool only, and all the tools in the range can be bought on their own.
