Many cities in the world are being designed in a way so that it is impossible to walk in them. It's a costly mistake, as health and wealth go hand in hand. Author and journalist Fareed Zakaria gives his perspective on how to fight the urban diabetes pandemic.
"It’s a big mistake to build cities without the capacity to walk in them. It accelerates the sedentary lifestyle which is at the heart of many of the health problems countries have.”
Fareed Zakaria is an Indian-born American journalist and author. He is the host of CNN's Fareed Zakaria GPS and writes a weekly column for The Washington Post. He has been a columnist for Newsweek, editor of Newsweek International, and an editor-at-large of Time. He is the author of five books, three of them international bestsellers, and the co-editor of one.
