In this third episode and full day of a one-week pilgrimage tour by bus in northern India and Nepal we start in Kushinagar, before driving about 7 hours south (through Uttar Pradesh) to the ancient city of Varanasi. We embark on a guided tour of the city as seen from the river as twilight descends. Highlight of the trip: witnessing the sacred Ganges River cremation ceremony. The transportation from the hotel and the river and back is by autorickshaw, also an exhilarating experience.
