I used to think adventure motorcycles were only for rich guys with $25,000 bikes, $3,000 riding gear, and professional off-road skills. I was a street rider, intimidated by dirt, intimidated by cost, and honestly… scared of the unknown.

Four years ago, I lost my Honda Goldwing to a deer. That accident forced me to rethink how I was living my life. I realized I was working a lot, but not really living. That moment is what pushed me into the world of adventure riding.

In this video, I share my story of going from street motorcycles to becoming a rookie adventure bike rider. I started with a budget-built 2024 Kawasaki KLR 650 and later added a 2026 IBEX 450, both built to be BDR-ready without spending insane money.
