Описание: Third Time's A Charm? Let's Hope So For This 38 Year Old Patient! This patient came to me after going through an upper lip lift as well as two previous rhinoplasty procedures with other surgeons because even after those three surgeries she was left without attaining the results she desired aesthetically. She requested another revision to finally get the nose she's always wanted. These revision cases aren't what I would call easy, and are often times, fraught with unexpected surprises during the operation itself due to a number of reasons. Our 38-year-old patient who's been on a difficult journey to find the perfect nose. She's undergone not one, but TWO previous rhinoplasties, and unfortunately, after all that, she's still not happy with her results.

As a patient with an ethnic nose, her case is particularly challenging due to the difficulties that come with making her aesthetic goal of having a more pointed nose with more nasal tip projection. Her skin has poor cartilage support, resulting in a wide nasal base, wide nostrils, and poor tip projection. Despite these challenges, she's determined to achieve her dream of having a slimmer, more upturned nose with a narrow tip.

To make this vision a reality, we needed to reconstruct her nose from the ground up. We created new structures that give her the projection and look she desires. This involved harvesting her rib cartilage in order to graft and build a new scaffold for her nasal tip. As her plastic surgeon, I have to weigh her aesthetic desire vs the possibilities of changing her look too much... How much is too much? That's the dilemma.

The patient wants a "Barbie nose," but as her surgeon, it's my job to ensure that we don't cross certain thresholds of aesthetics in order to avoid making the results worse than before. Ultimately, it's the patient who will be wearing this nose, and she needs to be happy in her own skin.
