Is there any prospect of a good life left to be found now that the world around us is starting to collapse? THE SYSTEM is an immersion in the all-encompassing — and constantly stalling — fight to change our harmful societal and economic systems, and keep hope.

Starring Berlin-based anti-fascist Tadzio Müller, Pippi van Ommen, co-founder of Extinction Rebellion in Amsterdam, and international diplomat Henk Ovink, an authority on water management based in New York — these pioneers have everything it takes to bring about real change. But when their actions, conferences and demonstrations do not come to fruition and the situation in the world only gets worse, it brings them closer to deeper conclusions about an uncertain future. What options do they have left?

THE SYSTEM is a cinematic experience, driven by the mesmerising score of Sonic Youth’s Lee Ranaldo, that challenges us to embrace the unknown in the future.
