Engineers Week was started in 1951 by the National Society of Professional Engineers with the purpose of promoting awareness of the contributions that engineers make to society.
Every year, the UTRGV College of Engineering & Computer Science celebrates Engineers Week, as it is a great opportunity to promote awareness about engineering and what engineers do. It is also a great way to connect with K-12 students and inspire the next generation of engineers. During E-Week, our engineering students get to connect with employers, professional organizations and the community.
The Rio Grande Valley has been ranked as one of the poorest areas in the United States, therefore it is imperative to promote Engineers Week to maintain student retention and help them and their succeed.
We can't wait to see out at UTRGV's E-Week next year!
