Join me on a day hike to the Wallberg summit above Lake Tegernsee in Bavaria, Germany, one of the most popular viewpoints in the Bavarian Pre-Alps.
In this video, we start from Rottach-Egern and head up towards the Wallberg (around 1720–1770 m), with epic views over Tegernsee and the surrounding mountains on a moderately difficult trail.
🌄 What you’ll see:
• The journey from Erlangen to the Wallberg peak
• Cable car station area at start and top of the trail
• Forest paths, steeper rocky sections near the top, and the final summit
• Panorama views of Lake Tegernsee and the Bavarian Alps from the summit
🥾 Hike info (approx.):
• Route: Wallbergbahn / Rottach-Egern to Wallberg summit
• Duration: Around 3 hours for the ascent and 1.5 hours for the descent
• Distance: 12 Kilometers round trip
• Type: Moderately difficult mountain hike with some steeper rocky parts near the top; good footwear and sure-footedness recommended.
