The telescope is officially back in action! After some recent repairs, the Celestron NexStar 4SE is performing beautifully. It is a cold day here in Florida, but that is actually a gift for solar observers. Cold air is often much steadier, allowing us to see fine details on the solar surface that usually get blurred by heat haze.

We are also quietly celebrating a big milestone this month: 5 years of Sma's Sky! Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey from the beginning.

We are using a Thousand Oaks white light filter today. Keep an eye out for sunspots and the delicate granulation across the solar disk. This stream is a perfect backdrop for your work day or study session.
