In this exercise you will analyze the impact of a road expansion on existing
farmland. You will review the existing situation, looking at the pre-development hydrograph for a 10-Yr storm. You will then complete the post-development scenario by entering the last catch basin for the new drainage system. You will use a terrain model file so the software can delineate the catchment that drains to the catch basin. You will analyze the post-development situation, and compare the pre- and post-development hydrographs. You will then design a storm water detention pond so that the post-development peak flow rate does not exceed the pre-development peak flow rate for the 10-Yr design storm. You will check that the detention pond does not overflow during a 100-Yr storm event.
