First things first, ask questions, and then ask some more! Get all the juicy details about who's speaking, when they're speaking, and what special moments are happening throughout the day. This way, you can create a detailed running order to keep everything on track.

Tip 2: Be Sure to Prepare Your MC Script
Time to get down to business. Craft your script using the info you've gathered, and don't forget to practice, practice, practice! Include all key elements and timings, including housekeeping, the names and order of the wedding party entrances, and the names and order of speakers.

Tip 3: Don’t Forget to Coordinate with Other Vendors
Next up, teamwork makes the dream work.
When you arrive on the day - reach out to other vendors like the wedding planner, DJ, photographer, and venue manager. It's all about ensuring everyone's on the same page, from the couples entrance to the bouquet toss. Be sure to go over the runsheet with each of them.

Tip 4: Always Test The PA System
Before the big day, check who’s PA system and mic you will be using. Sometimes the MC needs to bring their own mic to hook into the DJ’s equipment. Or the DJ or venue will provide one.

Give it a test for sound as soon as possible before guests enter the reception area. Check that the people on the furthest table are going to be able to hear you. Get all tech issues solved before the reception starts.

Tip 5: Be Ultra Prepared so you can Improvise and Problem Solve
Last but not least, expect the unexpected. Things don’t always go according to plan at weddings, but that's where you shine. Stay calm, think on your feet, and keep the party going no matter what curveballs come your way. If in doubt, give the dj a nod to play some music, and then regroup.
