This 21-minute mix is a love letter to Colorado — pressed in vinyl, cut on 7-inch records, and mixed live by a Colorado native who has spent a lifetime digging crates in this state.
Every record in this mix has a direct Colorado connection. Either recorded in Colorado, tied to a Colorado artist, or released on a Colorado record label, this set reflects the deep, often overlooked musical history that lives far beyond the mainstream narrative. From folk to country, soul, novelty, regional anthems, and local storytelling, this is Colorado music the way it was meant to be heard — raw, tactile, and intentional.
The entire mix is performed live on two Reloop RP-7 turntables paired with the AlphaTheta Euphonia 4-channel rotary mixer. No edits. No shortcuts. Just hands on vinyl, timing, and feel. Some of the texture and movement you hear comes directly from the rotary mixer itself — subtle sound shaping, transitions, and energy shifts done the old-school way.
You’ll also hear select sound elements pulled from Visual Vinyl 7” Records Vol. 1 & Vol. 2, created by Colorado native Chris Karens in collaboration with Mile High DJ Supply. These records aren’t just tools — they’re part of the state’s modern DJ legacy, bridging past and present while staying rooted in Colorado soil.
This mix isn’t about perfection. It’s about place.
It’s about mountains, highways, basements, studios, radio waves, and small pressing runs.
It’s about the kind of music that lives quietly until someone takes the time to pull it from a crate and give it space again.
Colorado has always had a sound — you just have to listen closely.
All Vinyl.
All 7-Inch Records.
All Colorado.
