Travel Thailand - Koh Tao, Koh Yao Yai to Chiang Mai

Btw: Our plan is to upload for each country a video, which shows our best moments on our amazing journey. After the edit, we are quite happy with the result of our first travel video but we still see some room for improvements. :)

Just a quick description, what we did:

Koh Tao
Amazing Island with many activity opportunities. In our opinion, you have to be a bit of a diving fan to go there, but there are incredible spots to explore and hidden beaches with not always overcrowded people. We really recommend to rent a scooter and explore the island with the beautiful viewpoints and beaches. The several fire shows in the evening and some beers you should not miss there. We did also over Open water on Ban's Diving. Now we can also explore the underwater world :).

Koh Lanta
The island is more calm and easy. Without a scooter, you will get probably boring in the town. But in the south, you will find amazing beaches and also a visit in the nationalparkt with the viewpoint is nice.

Koh Phi Phi
Well, we heard many things about Koh Phi Phi and it is the truth: in the middle of the town, it feels like a small Ballerman on Mallorca. Not really what we are looking for on our trip. But just rent a private boat (or share one with another) and leave the main island and you will find your paradise: crystal green clear water, white sands: no comments necessary... Diving is also something that we can recommend and we were also lucky to see a turtle, wuueeeeee!

Koh Yao Yai / Koh Yao Noi
Beautiful islands and not many tourists. We had a super nice time with friends and explore by boat the region. On Koh Yao Yai we've explored the island again with a scooter (in Thailand the only way to find the best beaches and spots). these two islands were one of our highlights during our Thailand trip.

Kaoh Lak
Yes, and there is a chance to catch waves in Thailand. Mathias thought it is not possible but on the memories beaches there were superwaves, a great bar just to spend a nice beach day and just relax.

Chiang Mai
The city is super to make activities. visits many local markets, make one of the food courses and visit one of the sanctuary resorts for elephants. really worth to travel in the north to spend some days in this great city.
