The fortress is located on a promontory at the entrance to Mandraki Harbor. It is no longer available to visitors. The construction of the fortress began in the 14th century and was continued by the Knights of the Order of St. John (their present name is: Sovereign Knights of the Order of St. John's Hospitallers). The name is said to come from the bitter orange trees. After the Turks conquered the island, there were military barracks here until 1908. An unusual place, unfortunately dominated by the ruins of an old Christian power. I took the photos in July 2016 with a Nikon SLR. A musical idea from October 8, 2019 made on Korg instruments: Kronos, Pa1000, Prologue (the first version was created on the Kross instrument).

Ruiny twierdzy joannitów. Kos. Grecja.
Twierdza znajduje się na cyplu przy wejściu do portu Mandraki. Niedostępna jest już dla zwiedzających. Budowę fortecy rozpoczęto w XIV wieku, a kontynuowali ją rycerze zakonu Joannitów (dzisiejsza ich nazwa brzmi: Suwerenni Rycerze Zakonu Szpitalników św. Jana). Nazwa ponoć pochodzi od gorzkich drzewek pomarańczy. Po zdobyciu wyspy przez Turków, do 1908 roku znajdowały się tu koszary wojskowe. Niezwykłe miejsce, dominują niestety ruiny dawnej chrześcijańskiej potęgi. Zdjęcia wykonałem w lipcu 2016 roku lustrzanką Nikon. Pomysł muzyczny z 8 października 2019 wykonany na instrumentach firmy Korg: Kronos, Pa1000, Prologue (pierwsza wersja powstała na instrumencie Kross).
