The Sun’s image and radio emissions are perfectly synchronized in this video. ☀️📡
What you see happening on the Sun is exactly what you hear in the radio signals.
Both light and solar emission radio waves travel at the speed of light, so these events reach Earth about 8 minutes after they happen, letting you see and hear solar activity at the same moment.
For this timelapse I experimented with the color, pushing it closer to the deep red of H-alpha instead of the usual yellow/orange. Let me know what you think!

Radio instruments used:
• Radio JOVE Single Dipole (40 MHz)
• SuperSID Monitor (VLF 15–25 kHz)
Radio JOVE detects solar radio bursts from flares, while SuperSID monitors changes in Earth’s ionosphere caused by those flares.
⏱️ Timelapse sped up 250× — hours of solar activity in minutes.
