SAVE COWS । Eternal Love (Drawing Tutorial step by step)

Recently one of my friends had asked me to draw something which is very much close to my heart so I here I am drawing something related to Cow protection. Through my art work, I am trying to showcase the eternal love the humans had with Cows since Vedic era.
In this tutorial video, I will try to explain different techniques, I am using while drawing this sketch. The material used is as mentioned in the description area.
Let’s see how I give the proportions, shading etc.
I begin with drawing an outline with very little pressure on the paper. When you are drawing an outline, be little careful, not to go too hard with your pencil. I use 2B mechanic pencil with 2mm lead for drawing an outline. Drawing too hard will leave indentations on your paper that will make further corrections very difficult and final sketch may look clumsy. This very first step is so important in attaining an accurate likeness of what you are drawing. If your basic outlines are not in proportion or in symmetry your final sketch won’t look perfect irrespective of good and fine shading.
Now going further I am introducing some darker tones to the sketch. Think very carefully about the direction of the source light & how it plays on your subject. For darker areas, I am using soft pencils like 4B or 6B and for providing lights to the sketch I use kneadable & Tombow erasers. It is easily available in the market. For the darkest areas like eyes, I use General’s Charcoal 2B pencil. Charcoal is the best to provide the enough darkness areas your sketch may require. Now roughly shade in the background, this will make the foreground pop out more.
Since the calf had turned its head to the side, add folds in the skin to its neck area.
The other important thing to consider is drawing clothes. Whenever you are drawing clothes or any type of fabric the most important aspect to keep in mind is the direction the fabric is going to be pulled in. Folds or creases will create wherever the fabric is being stretched or pulled. The more detail you put into the folds, the more interesting it will look. I use a paper blender and a flat paint brush to introduce creases on her clothes.
