I wrote this essay in ENG101 last year, this essay is a reflection of my identity as a cisgender Black Liberian woman and how privilege shows up in ways people don’t always expect.

The “wheel of privilege” helped me understand that privilege isn’t one-size-fits-all. You can have advantages in some areas, while still facing challenges in others.

This is my story, my perspective, and my truth.
