Описание: Getting acquainted with the (tr)uSDX. Thanks to Jeff for a 40m QSO Monday night about 10 PM. Jeff had some good things to say about the signal quality. Thanks also to Craig who broke-in to give me an RST 579 signal report from the East Coast.

The antenna used is a 40m inverted-V half-wave dipole 26 feet high at apex fed with 1/2 wavelength of homebrew twisted pair feedline plus about 20 feet of RG-58 coax into the shack.

Afterwards, I watched a few videos from DL2MAN who kindly showed me how to use the menu system and how to calibrate the frequency display.

PS - Credit for uSDX goes to the primary contributors PE1NNZ (Guido) and DL2MAN (Manuel). They originated the uSDX concept by modifying the QCX CW transceiver into a software‑defined SSB‑capable radio using clever Class‑E PA modulation techniques, and refined the design, created improved PCBs, mechanical designs, and documentation, and coordinate community production. Many commercial sellers list “uSDX” or “tr uSDX” radios, but the official, community‑endorsed design traces back to PE1NNZ + DL2MAN. Other versions are clones or derivatives. It's important for us hams to recognize those who fundamentally improve our gear. If you watch DL2MAN YT videos, you will see him also give credit to G0UPL (Hans). The uSDX began as a modification of Hans’ QCX transceiver. The original QCX (a single‑band CW QRP kit) was designed by G0UPL, founder of QRP Labs. It used a Class‑E RF amplifier and a digital signal generation architecture that was unusually flexible for a CW radio. PE1NNZ (Guido) hacked the QCX into an SSB-capable SDR. Guido discovered that by repurposing the QCX’s microcontroller, using PWM modulation, and modifying the Class‑E PA drive, he could turn the QCX into a software‑defined SSB transceiver. This experimental firmware was the birth of the uSDX concept.
