CCTV footage captured the incident, showing the attackers briefly stopping outside the temple before throwing the grenade. The temple priest was inside at the time but escaped unhurt. Police suspect a possible Pakistan link to the attack and have arrested three youths. The opposition is criticising both the Bhagwant Maan Aam Aadmi Party government and the central government, citing lawlessness in Punjab. Investigations are ongoing.
