Detailed Instructions:
1. Take 250gm Chinese Potato. Peel & wash it. In a cooker cook it on high flame till 1 whistle, then keep on low flame for 5 min if the potatoes are too small, else for 10-12 min as per size of the potato. Drain the water & keep it aside.
2. In a pan, take 1 table spoon oil - Mustard seeds - fenugreek seeds - let it splutter.
3. Add 1 table spoon Ginger Garlic paste.
4. Add 20-25 shallots OR 1 large chopped onion - cook till its mushy.
5. Add spices - 1/4 tspn turmeric, 1 tspn coriander powder, 1/2 tspn garam masala, 1/2 tspn black pepper powder .. mix everything well. Let the spices cook well.
6. Add chilly flakes 1/2 to 1 tspn OR you can add 1/2 tspn red chilli powder along with other spices.
7. If the potatoes were properly cooked in cooker, then cover & leave on low flame for 5-8min. If the potatoes are undercooked in pressure cooker, you can reuse little water from cooker at this stage or little normal water, cover & cook till the potatoes are soft.
8. Ready to be served with chapathis or rice.. tastes best in a bowl of thick curd. Try & do share your feedbacks!
