As a potential Yachtmaster you should turn up on the first day of the theory course already knowing the IALA Buoyage System and you should have good knowledge of vessels navigation lights. You should be able to accurately plot a latitude and longitude and measure distances on a chart.
There are plenty of free videos online that will help you with these very basic skills.
