How Banks Enslave Us: Let's talk about the Debt Trap

Imagine trusting a bank with your life savings… and one day the bank evaporates. Imagine paying interest for years on a home, only to lose that home the moment you struggle. Imagine your child stepping into adulthood already enslaved by student loans.

This isn’t a story. This is the system we live in.

In this episode, I talk about how banks and investment institutions have trapped entire societies in generational debt. A person buys a home, pays interest for years, falls into hardship, and the bank takes the house. Now they’re forced into high‑rent apartments owned by investors who also took loans with interest. Their income disappears into rent, groceries, medical bills — and when that’s not enough, credit cards pull them deeper into debt.

And the cycle continues with their children. No money left for tuition, so the child takes a student loan. Before they even step into the real world, they’re already enslaved to the system.

And when these banks want more profit, they buy bonds from criminal governments — funding oppression, war, and genocide. The more bonds they buy, the longer the suffering continues.

This is what happens when amanah — trust — is betrayed. Allah commands us in Surah Nisa 4:58 to render trusts to whom they are due. Don’t take advantage of people who trusted you. Don’t be like the banks and institutions that betray humanity for profit.

This principle is for all of us. For our families. For our children. For society. For humanity.

Let’s return to the trust Allah commanded.
