New York City Overnight Trip: Participated in NYC's Big Event!

Описание: Early November 2023. I took an overnight trip to New York City via Amtrak.

Amtrak is a passenger railroad that runs throughout the United States, covering more than 500 stations and a total distance of 34,000 km. The trip between Boston and New York City takes 3.5 to 4 hours each way, but it is easier than flying and more convenient as it goes directly to the center of the city. This time we took the regular Amtrak Express to NYC on the way there and the Acela Express First Class on the way back, the fastest train in the United States. First class passengers of the Acela Express can use the lounge at New York Penn Station, so I videotaped the inside of the lounge.

We chose to stay at the Renaissance New York Midtown, a Marriott-affiliated hotel located about a five-minute walk from Amtrak's New York Penn Station. It is conveniently located almost in the middle of Manhattan and near Times Square. Manhattan hotels can have very small rooms, but the rooms at the Renaissance were large enough without an upgrade.

The purpose of this overnight trip was to run the New York City Marathon. This marathon is said to be one of the largest marathons in the U.S., with more than 50,000 runners, but it has become so popular that in recent years it has become a very difficult event to enter. There are various ways to participate in the marathon, including a lottery, charity, volunteer work, and international tours for those from outside the U.S. Depending on the method of participation, the cost can be quite high. The cheering along the marathon course is almost uninterrupted, with over 2 million spectators cheering along First Avenue, Fifth Avenue, and Central Park. I would be very happy if I could share some of the realistic feeling of the marathon by introducing the course and the atmosphere of the marathon, which will be my third consecutive year participating in the marathon, and by extension, help future participants.
