Mumbai sinks again!

Описание: After two days of heavy monsoon rainfall, like every year, Mumbai is waterlogged. Pedestrians were seen falling in potholes while cars were half-submerged in water.

The IMD first issued a red alert, which later changed to an Orange alert for moderate to heavy spells.

The southwest monsoon has arrived over Mumbai and parts of Maharashtra. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has reportedly activated its emergency plan. They deployed 7,000 personnel, 547 smart dewatering pumps, and rescue teams. Several areas recorded over 200-300 mm of rain in short periods. Low-lying areas, underpasses, and roads in Andheri, Bandra, Dadar, Sion, Malad, Hindmata Junction, Gandhi Market, King Circle, and other suburbs are severely flooded, according to reports.

Videos that went viral on social media show people walking through knee-deep water and vehicles getting submerged. At least one car was crushed by a falling tree near Dadar. More rain is expected in the next few days, with authorities asking citizens to be alert.
