Milly's Marvelous Achievement!

Описание: Massive congrats to our client, Milly, who is one step closer to her goal of driving independence thanks to the tuition and vehicle adaptations provided by Herts Ability on our private test track in Harlow!

"I wanted to take a driving assessment as driving with a disability sounded very daunting and I'd be lying to say I wasn't nervous.

The second I showed up for my driving assessment, I felt relieved and welcomed straight away. It didn't feel like it was impossible for me to drive and after talking it through before I even set foot in a car, I wished I had found your charity earlier!

As for the Herts Ability team, Mark (Assistant Manager) and Katie (Occupational Therapist) were amazing - both giving me tips when driving, and particularly on the adaptations I needed. I felt supported the whole time and could tell that they just wanted to help me.

I was allowed to take my time and had a lot of questions answered, which calmed my nerves even more. They helped me improve my confidence instantly and I'm so thankful. They were so knowledgeable on the adaptation that I needed, I had the opportunity to try different styles out to find the one that suited me with their great advice.

I was born missing my left forearm, just below the elbow. Although I've faced obstacles in my life, I've always found a way to adapt and overcome it with the help of my family, whether that be tying my laces, cooking etc.

However, knowing that the adaptation that I need can be installed in quite a few cars, driving no longer seems impossible.
