I've always really wanted a Robe a la Polonaise, and after seeing this portrait, I decided I needed one in hot pink. The dress is called a Robe a la Polonaise; and is popular circa 1780, from the Georgian Period in the 18th century. I use traditional, historically accurate sewing techniques including the English Stitch, as well as a combination of machien and fudging it.
