This special report covers the massive fire that broke out in a slum area near the Rithala metro station in New Delhi on Friday night. According to Fire Officer SK Dua, ‘A total of 29 fire tenders are on the spot, and the fire is now under control. A child was reportedly injured and has been taken to the hospital by ambulance’. The Delhi Fire Services received the call about the blaze in Bengali Basti at approximately 10:56 pm. While 15 fire tenders were initially sent, a total of 29 were ultimately deployed to control the blaze, which was designated as a 'Medium' category fire. Police sources reported that multiple LPG cylinders exploded, which intensified the fire and gutted several huts. Officials have confirmed that one child was injured in the incident.
