Some facts about munnar:
Munnar is situated at an altitude of 1,600 meters above sea level, making it one of the highest tea plantations in India which cover vast stretches of land in the region. The tea grown here is known for its unique flavor and aroma. Munnar was discovered by Scottish planter John Daniel Munro in the late 1800s. He was the one who first planted tea in the region.

The name "Munnar" means "three rivers" in Malayalam, the local language. The town is located at the confluence of three rivers, namely Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni, and Kundala. Munnar is home to the Neelakurinji flower, which blooms once in 12 years. The last time it bloomed was in 2018, and the next time it is expected to bloom is in 2030. It also attracts large number of tourists from all over the world, who come to enjoy its scenic beauty, tea plantations, wildlife, and waterfalls.
