Mutabaruka—Set De Prisoners Free

Описание: This was the very first concert we ever shot, at the iconic (now a memory...sigh), Lone Star Cafe in NYC, September, 1984. Hope I can remaster a better quality copy for you all at some point, but I think this is worth sharing now for both the historical and cultural value.

This was a challenging shoot! One cameraman was stopped by the police on the way to the club (I do not remember why) and never arrived, so we ended up shooting with only one camera. We shot 2 sets though, so you know 'nuff time in the editing room followed for me. Mishaps and challenges were par for the course trying to document reggae in those days, but it made us a very resourceful crew. Was a great grounding. .

Please note the musicians onstage with Muta (the High times players), especially Chris Meredith and Asher Brissett who you can see backing Black Uhuru, a couple of years later in the concert video we shot at the Ritz.
