Guccio was born in Florence, Tuscany on 26 March 1881. He is the son of a Tuscan leather craftsman from the country's central manufacturing region.
As a teenager in 1899, Guccio Gucci was working at the Savoy Hotel in London. Gucci was inspired by the elegant upper-class hotel guests and by luggage companies such as H. J. Cave & Sons. He returned to Florence and started making travel bags and accessories. He began selling leather bags to horsemen in the 1920s.
Gucci is an Italian luxury brand of fashion and leather goods. It was founded by Guccio Gucci in Florence, Tuscany, in 1921.
Its product lines include handbags, shoes, and home decoration.
They have focused on hand-made stuff with good quality and finishing because of which they got famous. In 1994 Gucci's director was tom ford. His vision and direction helped to increased sales by 90%.
In 1999 with all the luxuries brands they had made an alliance with the multi luxuries brand also They took shares of Yvessaint laurent , Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, etc.
Gucci handbag is designed in such a way that next-generation also can use product, long Durability of each product. This is the reason many people like to buy Gucci handbags.
In 2016 Gucci's revenue was US$4.3billion and also they have estimated that this year their revenue will be US $40billion. Gucci is having 278 stores in the world's top cities.

5 Strategy of Gucci -
1) Quality - They Used the best fabrics which they import from other countries and that cost higher also they are using the world finest leather. All there product made by handmade with the best quality the is the reason the product is having long durability.
2) Marketing expenses - To reach their product to consumers they spend money on marketing and endorsement. They hire big celebrities to promote the brand like influence marketing.
before releasing the product they organized a free fashion show and they promote the product. They hire the best creative mind. The target customer of Gucci is rich people. At the end of the year product which is left destroyed helps to maintain scarcity.
3) Exclusivity - They make the product in very less quantity which attracts most of the customers. Example - Rs5000 Product price * 100 Product Unit sold = 500000 OR 20000 Product price * 25 Product unit sold = 500000 In the second scenario company saves the production cost.
4) Symbol of High status - Rich people want Apple in terms of mobile phone, In watch they want Rolex, In clothing, they want Gucci they don't look at the colour, the price they only want the high-status symbol.
5) Customer Behaviour - Person who willing to pay 25000 Price for Hotel stay in taj Hotel that person definitely but Gucci product. Gucci knows their customer where they going, what they are eating as per that Gucci is positioning the brand.
