My Issue With Modern Hiking Trails In Australia

Описание: Does anyone else think that hiking is losing its soul?

Where is the sense of adventure that was so prominent in the character of Australian bushwalking?

In Australia, each new hiking trail seems to follow a strict formula - replace natural imperfections with over-engineered precision, exchange rock and soil for unnatural materials, exchange fun for functionality.

Is it acceptable to prioritize broad accessibility (akin to urban developments) when it comes at the cost of our wilderness areas? It is a fine line, but I am of the belief that it is being crossed time and time again by these modern trails.

Accessibility is important, but these modern trails are taking the wrong approach and doing more harm than good.
