Sometimes dubbed Britain’s 'Bermuda Triangle', the Dark Peak is a place of wild beauty and sudden danger — a high moorland where the weather changes in minutes, and where history and mystery are etched into the very landscape.

In this episode, we hike to the site of one of the Peak District’s most famous tragedies — the 1948 crash of the American Superfortress Over Exposed, better known as the Bleaklow Bomber. All 13 crew members were lost, and their wreckage still lies scattered across the moor to this day.

But this rugged corner of Derbyshire holds more than wartime history… for decades, walkers, locals, and even military personnel have reported seeing phantom aircraft in the skies above — planes from another time, flying silently before vanishing into thin air. These ghost plane sightings have made the Dark Peak one of the UK’s most mysterious landscapes, and their stories continue to this day.
