RZSS Edinburgh Zoo’s adorable young male chimpanzee, Velu, recently celebrated his second birthday and has become quite the playful little ape. Recent video footage shows the young chimpanzee energetically jumping and clambering over the climbing frame and network of ropes of Budongo Trail’s outdoor enclosure. Whilst is never far from the watchful eye of his mum, Heleen, Velu definitely looks set to become the king of the swingers and Edinburgh Zoo’s very own jungle VIP.
The Budongo Trail exhibit takes it's name from the forest in Uganda where RZSS has been supporting conservation work with chimpanzees for over 10 years. For more information out our work there please visit:
