This is a highly custom/modified 1965 Malibu and it holds great sentimental value for it's owner. It's a great example of personal flare that often goes into car crafting.

The Chevelle was introduced in late 1963 to fill the mid-size gap in Chevrolet's line.
The Malibu options package, named after a celebrated beach in California, proved so popular it would later become it's own model.

In 1964 Chevelle was dubbed - back to the classic 1950's!

The Chevelle was produced by a division of General Motors from 1964 through 1977 by 1978 GM decided to drop the Chevelle name. The Chevelle is an A-Body platform and was one of Chevrolet's best selling automobiles. Coupes, sedans, convertibles and station wagons were buyer options for body styles. Chevrolet fans took to the new Chevelle right away. The Malibu option received the dominant sales.


Although The 1964 Chevelle was already a good looking car it got a re-design for it's 1965 model. The most noticeable ornamentation change was a more aggressive grill and bumper, better visibility taillights. The body had an overall more square appearance, this may be due to the fact that GM decided to give the 1965 model bigger body dimensions, 2.7 inches longer and a lower stance of 1.3 inches but no wheelbase base change was made to the car.

An interesting side note to the Chevy Chevelle is that in 1964/1965 the Canadaian division of GM produced a mid-size automobile known as the Acadian Beaumont. The model was based on the contemporary Chevelle but was undeniably Pontiac. The Beaumont is a beautiful addition to GM, taking most of it's styling cues from the Tempest.
