Filming YouTube videos alone is harder than it looks — especially when you’re trying to speak naturally while also remembering what you’re meant to say.
After one too many retakes, I decided I needed a teleprompter… but when I saw most decent options cost €150–€200, I couldn’t justify paying that much for what is basically angled glass and plastic.
So instead, I decided to design and 3D print my own teleprompter.
In this video, I take you through the full process of building a compact, lens-mounted DIY teleprompter, including:
Designing the teleprompter in Fusion 360
3D printing multiple prototypes (V1–V4)
Creating a modular mount that attaches directly to the camera lens
Testing phone placement, glass angles, and reflection blocking
Building a final version that’s sturdy, lightweight, and easy to reprint
And because every teleprompter app I downloaded had the mirror function locked behind a subscription, I also ended up making a free teleprompter website for creators:
A free mirrored teleprompter tool with no subscriptions or paywalls -

If there’s interest, I’m happy to release the STL files — let me know in the comments!
This channel is brand new and I’m learning as I go, so if you’ve got ideas for future 3D printing projects, improvements, or Fusion tips, I’d love to hear them.
Thanks for watching, and stay tuned for more 3DMinter builds!
