On two rainy days in late October, 2025, Jason Fields (@TheNoogaRailfan ) and myself ventured trackside with the goal of finding and photographing CSX No. 1851, the "Mullet Motor" painted in tribute to the Nashville, Chattanooga and St. Louis Railway.
The train was photographed at several locations between Chattanooga, Tennessee and Dalton, Georgia, as the engine was at the time assigned to local train L806, a turn job running from Wauhatchie Yard near Chattanooga to south Dalton and return.
In the process, shots were also captured of several other trains, including one led by CSX No. 1981, another Mullet painted in tribute to Pan Am Railways.
The clips in this video are presented in geographical order between north Ringgold, Dalton, then back to Chattanooga. So the consist is subject to change from clip to clip. Also, if you're wearing headphones, be wary of the pacing shot up Rabbit Valley near Ringgold, as the wind nearly blew out my microphone, even with a wind protector on it.
