Описание: This video talks about the Spaulding classification system used in hospitals. The Spaulding classification system is a set of guidelines to determine the minimum level of sterilization and cleaning required for equipment and instruments used in the operating rooms. It is broken up into 3 groups, critical, semi-critical, and non critical. Critical are equipment or supplies that come into contact with sterile tissue and must be sterilized such as surgical instruments and supplies. Semi-critical are things that come into contact with broken skin or mucous membranes such as natural orifices like the mouth. The minimum required cleaning for semi-critical items is high level disinfection (HLD) and include things such as anesthesia circuits/equipment, GI endoscopes or cystoscopes, etc. Non critical items are everything else used in the OR that you touch, such as the OR bed, linens, computer, bovie machine, etc. These items only require a basic wipe down.
