President Donald Trump says voter ID requirements will be in place for the upcoming midterm elections whether Congress approves them or not. In a Truth Social post, Trump signaled he is prepared to take executive action if the Senate blocks the Republican-backed SAVE America Act, which narrowly passed the House and now faces an uncertain future in the upper chamber. The legislation would require government-issued photo identification at polling places and documentary proof of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote in federal elections.
