Adapting an Industrial Lockstitch Sewing Machine for a Wheelchair User

Описание: This project was about independence - not modification for modification’s sake.

We adapted an industrial lockstitch sewing machine for a customer who operates from a wheelchair and is unable to use traditional foot controls.

Standard lockstitch machines are designed around leg-operated pedals. That assumption doesn’t work for everyone. So we rethought the control system to enable safe, precise, hands-only operation, allowing the user to sew independently and confidently without compromise.

This is practical accessibility in manufacturing - engineering solutions built around real people, not theoretical use cases.
