In southwest Texas, where the Pecos River, Rio Grande and Devil’s River have carved out majestic canyons, a remarkable civilization flourished for thousands of years and then disappeared. Native American artist Amado Peña takes us for a rare look at the art and legacy of a vanished people in the 1991 documentary, Spirits of the Canyon: Ancient Art Along the Pecos River.
KERA celebrates our 65th anniversary with special archival programming from the vault. We visited to the G. William Jones Film and Video Collection at SMU Libraries ( @SMUJonesFilm ) where the KERA Collection is housed in their climate-controlled vault.
